Alan Mannion is a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical, Polymer, and Design in Engineering and Informatics. He is the coordinator for the MSc in Advanced Polymer Material and the project coordinator for the Polymer Apprenticeship. Alan holds a Master’s degree in complex fluids from TUS. 

He is also a Principal Investigator in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Platform, a Category III Research Group that sits within the Material Research Institute (MRI) and complements the existing Applied Polymer Technology (APT) research centre. He is currently undertaking a Phd in the area of Additive Manufacturing. He has also been an inventor on a number of patents which he helped develop in his previous role as Senior Engineer in APT.
