Alexandre Portela is an Analytical Support Officer-CISD. He has 6 years of experience working in manufacturing and characterization of composite materials. After his graduation, he worked on 2 EU R&D Horizon projects: FibreShip and FibreGY as research engineer, He joined the Centre for Industrial Services and Design-CISD/TUS team in 2022 and his key duties are analytical investigation of materials and method development, thermal and thermo-mechanical analysis of polymers. Alex has a wide research experience on polymer composite material focusing on manufacturing technology, material selection and characterization techniques to the aerospace, energy and maritime sectors.
