Dr Crevan O’ Donnell is a post-doctoral research engineer and research hub officer for The Technical University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest at PRISM (Polymer, Recycling, Industrial, Sustainability and Manufacturing) Research Institute. He has 19 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical company as a senior laboratory analyst and supervisor along with 7 years’ experience as a post-doctoral research engineer at TUS, Athlone campus. During Crevan’s time in TUS, Athlone campus he has obtained a BSc in Applied Chemistry (Honours), 2011 and PhD in Polymer Materials, 2017. Dr. O’Donnell has fulfilled various research-based positions in collaboration with industry and has experience in managing and delivering output associated with collaborative research projects. He has worked in the areas of polymer recycling, material enhancement, biopolymer materials and medical sterilisation. The areas of research that I have been involved with include bio-based bioplastic alternative, recyclability of mixed plastic waste, compostable materials from seafood waste and seaweed and the optimisation of packaging system. Crevan has also supervised a Masters student and a principal supervisor for PhD student.
