We were delighted to recently welcome the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke along with Mark Whelan Enterprise Ireland to Applied Polymer Technologies (APT) as part of his announcement of €2 million in funding awarded to Technological University of the Shannon and allocated to APT through Enterprise Ireland’s Capital Equipment Call and in collaboration with COMAND Technology Gateway.
This investment will enhance our capabilities in Machine Learning Sustainable Polymer Extrusion, Biopolymer Extrusion, Polymer Recycling, and in-line characterization of Recyclable Polymers, strengthening our research and innovation capacity while fostering stronger industry collaboration.
During his visit, the Minister toured our facilities, engaging with our team and seeing first-hand the state-of-the-art equipment and expertise that APT provides. This funding underscores the ongoing commitment to supporting industry-led research, fostering innovation, and strengthening Ireland’s industrial and manufacturing sectors.
