Dr. Pavan Paraskar is an accomplished Polymer Technologist with over nine years of R&D experience spanning coatings, adhesives, composites, foams, and thermoplastics. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the PRISM Research Institute, TUS, where he leads projects focused on the development of sustainable bio-based materials, including polyurethane, epoxy acrylates and non-isocyanate systems for industrial applications. Dr. Paraskar holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Technology from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, where his research focused on bio-based polyurethanes for high-performance coatings. His expertise includes polyol synthesis, surface chemistry, nanocomposites, and scale-up of green technologies. He has played a key role in technology transfer, pilot-scale trials, and industrial collaborations to commercialize sustainable polymer solutions.
An author of over 18 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, Dr. Paraskar actively contributes to both academic and industrial innovation. He has been awarded with several International and National awards such as IRMRA Best Essay award, BIRAC Innovation Challenge award, Symposium Applications for a Changing world Best Abstract (Park System, USA) etc. He is also certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt professional. Passionate about sustainability, he supports mentoring young researchers and contributes to building research infrastructure and interdisciplinary collaborations aligned with Ireland’s climate and bioeconomy goals.
